My Library says goodbye to The One Minute Millionaire, from the best selling authors Mark Victor Hansen (Chicken Soup fame) and Robert G. Allen (Creating Wealth fame) that I picked up about a year ago.

This book just went out the door to a fine home in Alberta, Canada. Not unexpected. Alberta's the home of free enterprise in Canada.
The One Minute Millionaire-The Enlightened Way To Wealth by Mark Victor Hansen and Robert G. Allen, Harmony Books, 2002. ISBN: 0609609491

They talk briefly about the long way to millionaire status: simply the investment of about a $1 per day (at 20% this would take about 32 years) or the short way. The long way involves another basic financial planning principle: spend less than you earn and put all or most of the difference into investments that will earn returns of 7% or more after tax (my personal #-they use 10% pre tax)

For the short way to millionaire status they say you should choose your millionaire mountain from the "mountain range of wealth". The four "mountains" they use are; Investments-shares and funds holding shares of companies; real estate-properties; business-marketing products, services and ideas and the internet.

By now we could safely say that the Internet is really just another way to do business, invest or own properties. But it certainly was and is one of the most dramatic changes underway in the way people work and play. Riding those kind of tsunami waves is certainly one of the best ways to rapid wealth accumulation. Of course if you make risky bets, the quickest way to rapid wealth disintegration, you could also say.

So they book then moves forward to such concepts as "one great idea", "multiple streams of income", "leverage", "little or no money down" concepts for real estate purchase and "marketing, marketing, marketing".

Here's hoping the book will have a big impact at its new home. Money isn't everything, I know but the alternative isn't much fun at all.

What we all need is a millionaire mindset and a giving-loving heart, I believe. Make the day!

My Library looses Masters of Networking--Building Relationships For Your Pocketbook and Soul

This book just went out the door to a fine home at a business library in Quebec..
Masters of Networking, ed. by Ivan R. Misner and Don Morgan, Bard Press, 2000. ISBN: 1885167482 The authors are part of BNI, Business Networks International.

Some of the contributors included in the book were: Harvey Mackay, Deepak Chopra, Mark Victor Hansen, Paul & Sarah Edwards, Fran Tarkenton, Susan RoAne, Bill Gates, John Naisbitt, Jay Conrad Levinson, John Milton Fogg and numerous others.

There are many practical tips in the book, too many to attempt to summarize.

Here's just one set of tips, from the 9 Keys to Mastery article by Lance Mead:

-accept the "givers gain philosophy,
-work in a disciplined structure
-attend networking events
-plan your networking
-accept the teachings of a mentor
-become a great storyteller
-have a database of resources to help other people
-keep an open mind
-make relationships a part of your life

Other articles such as Learn Your Networking Style in the Self Assessment section and the Top 10 Does and Dont's for Referrals by Humbert are very useful for those oriented practically. Humbert's key advice in my opinion is that good relationships take time; don't rush, have a plan and be methodical.

Other books worth looking at in a similar vein are:

It's Tour Championship Time For the Best 30 Golfer's on the Men's Tour. The end of the line for this year officially. With not much on the tube to compete with it, it will get a lot of eyeballs this Thursday through Sunday.

The Tour doesn't appear to want to sit still, which I applaud. Golfers will be debating the new mega-championship proposal commissioner Tim Finchem announced yesterday.

Many golfers, no matter what ability level, will be thinking next year, next season. for changes they want to make in their game. This program from one of our blog sponsors Is worth looking at.

Teen Depression. Part 2-When son or daughter does not want to talk to parents in a normal communicative way, it"s often a sign of depression. So if that is true, the cure is to also get at the root of the depression, as opposed to trying to just work on better teen-parent communications.

'Keep eye out' for teen depressionBy Daniel HurstThursday, 20 October 2005 COMMUNICATION is vitally important to help teenagers overcome depression and anxiety, a community gathering has been told. Dr Jeanie Sheffield, state coordinator for the beyondblue schools research initiative, said parents should "keep an eye out" and ensure the lines of communication with their teenage children stayed open. "You can't overestimate the value of having a good support network," she said.

When teens harm themselves Self-mutilation, which is also known as self-harm or self-destructive behaviour, seems to be on the increase. What is self-mutilation? Why do teens do this to themselves? Health24 investigates. The dangers of self-mutilation (cutting, burning, drug abuse, or anything that is damaging to the human body) are clear. Kids stand a good chance of either losing too much blood, or getting a nasty infection. Less obvious consequences are the emotional dangers involved.
